Dennis Oh!!!

Dennis oh or Dennis Joseph O`Neill is one of my favorite Korean actors. The first thing that attracted me to him was his smile, that killer smile! Besides, something in his eyes notified me that he has a really big kind heart! It is true that I have never met him and I might never will but the facts I am feeling are giving me a good impression about this gentleman.

I first saw him acting in a drama named “Witch Yoo Hee” during my summer vacation. Since that time he became my number one Korean actor after Lee wan and Lee Jin Wook. He is half Korean, half American, AS his mother is from South Korea. He was only speaking basic Korean but in a short period of time he actually improved. The progress can be recognized when we see the difference between the two dramas he acted in Sweet Spy and Witch Yoo Hee.

In Sweet Spy, he did not know much Korean and most of his lines were in English. However, in Witch Yoo Hee, he was speaking a very good Korean! I could not believe that he improved that much in two years only! He must be a very hard working student.

Hmmm, I wonder why I am writing about Dennis! Is it because I have no other topics or maybes maybe because I like this model/actor! People might ask! Why? Well, Just because!

Westlife 2007 & "Back Home"

A band that sold over 40 million album worldwide, had 14 UK number ones, won the record of the year 7 times, and it’s my favorite boyband….whom I am talking about? WESTLIFE of course!! 6 years in a raw and I am still a loyal fan for this Irish boyband. Yay! No matter what others say about them or those who dislike them, nothing will ever change my mind about them!

On November 5th, 2007, they released their newest album “Back home”. It has 11 songs in including Michael Buble song “Home” which they made a really good job making a cover of it. However, though Westlife made a lot of cover songs, one sure thing can be noticed, they have never ruined the rhythm or the meaning of these songs! With making cover songs or not, they will still be my favorite boyband, NO MATTER WHAT!

The sad news is that they are going to take a year break after finishing their tour sometime in June. A whole year is a lot! But then, these men, I cannot call them boys, had dedicated their life for Westlife, they deserve to have a break. So no album for Westlife next year which means that “Back home” is the last album they release while I am still in the university! Next time they release their album, I am not going to be in ZU!

The main reason behind wanting a year break is that Nicky wants to spend more time with his wife and his babies Rocco and Jay! Shane wants to spend time with his wife and baby Nicole! Kain is planning to get married soon and Mark wants to hang around with his boyfriend Kevin! They have a life outside Westlife after all.

I cannot wait to get my hands on their newest album, I don’t know what’s my story whenever I want to buy a recent album they released! It just does not happen to me as quick as I want it !

The Outstanding Golf Trip...Part 2

Mr. Dc asked us to go into the coffee shop and order something until the golf professionals come to teach us. I sat at the coffee shop and ordered lemon juice and had a really nice conversation with the girls, Mr. Dc, Ms. M and our dean who joined us later. Around 11:00 AM, the golf professionals arrived and introduced themselves, M and S. They looked really professionals and they were good looking too!

They guided us to the fields where they showed us different kinds of golf clubs. I learnt something, “Its not about the straight that you hit the ball with, its about the swing and what kind of club you are holding” we took our positions and both M and S started to teach us how to hold the clubs and hit the balls. I was so happy when I hit the ball from the very first try but it did not go far! I soon ran out of balls and S was kind enough to bring me more.

We asked the dean and Mr. Dc to hit the ball for us and they did! It was awesome! They looked really good! We moved to the other field which we only had to put the ball inside the hall! It was not easy as it sounds! But then, time flies and it was time for us to go back to the campus!

We thanked our teachers and the golf professionals for all what they did, we really had a good time. This trip was the best I ever had because simply I had a really good time with the business girls and teachers! Now, I really want to play golf again, it’s like a love from the very first sight! One day, I will join the golf club and go there whenever I get the chance to because golf is a good sport after all!

The Outstanding Golf Trip...Part 1

Being a full time business student and a part time tutor at my university’s library is quite hard but still challenging. I really feel content whenever I work hard, study hard and for sure have fun! I always try to make time for my friends and grab any other chance for fun….like the trip the Dubai Creek Club.

An email was sent before the end of the weekend at Dec 11 announcing a trip to play golf in Dubai Creek Club, I was so excited that I replied right away. The trip was on Thursday, the best time of the week coz I have no classes on Thursdays. I came to know the my quantitative methods teacher and the dean of my college were going too! When I asked my teacher about what I should be wearing, he said “A hat, sunglasses and funny shirt!” though I have no idea what funny shirts have to do with playing golf! It was a joke anyways.

I bought a hat, a new sun block, a sports bag and sports shoes as preparation for playing golf. Some of my friends wanted to come with me but as the email said, only business students. that morning, I had breakfast with my friend Sara, she was shocked on how causal I looked! Ah well, I was not going to a party, I was going to play golf so I wanted to wear comfortable easy clothes.

I joined the business girls at the small cafeteria in B wing where we met Mr. Dc, my business teacher. He said that the dean was going to meet us at the club. We hopped into the bus and followed Mr. Dc to the Dubai Creek Club. I have never been in there and it was so nice when we walked around the place. I enjoyed the smell of the wet grass and the nice light breeze.

The two Eids!!!

The two Eids were really calm as usual especially with me not being able to go out. In both of them, I stayed at home because simply my brothers went out with their friends and dad with his friends and co-workers. However, I stayed with my granny and received guests.

One very interesting visit was from one of my uncles who I did not see for 4 years because he went abroad to study with his wife. He called and said that he was coming to see me with his wife, my granny who is my mom’s mom, some relatives and he said something about a surprise! I did not get him when he said a surprise until he came home.

He brought his children with him! God bless them! It’s been a really long time since the last time I held kids though in a way I had no idea how to hold them! I had a good conversation with them, one of my brothers joined us later. It was good to see him and his family. He mentioned something about going to Liverpool in the mid-year break and asked me to join them. I wanted to and tried to convince my dad but he always have different opinions than mine.

For sure, my granny’s sisters came to visit as usual with all the teasing and stuff! Granny kept saying the same thing during the last two Eids, she wants me to marry my cousin who is by the way 5 years younger than me, and we both have completely different views about life! Lately, I see the marriage subject coming a lot on the surface and it seriously bugs me! I cannot get married, not now!!!

So these what were basically happening with my Eids. Poor me same story every year, no one have much free time in order to take me out! Anyways, things could have been worse!

My 21st Birthday Party! C7

Chapter #7: My birthday presents and final thoughts

Obviously, my business teachers are always busy with their classes and stuff. Though I wanted them to come so bad, they could not make it. I really understand but still, I made the party from 12 to 2 because I know that 12 is when most business teachers are free. There is always next year…

I attended the afternoon class and went to reorganize for some stuff. I met some teachers who could not make it because they were away outside the campus. I really wish if more people came to my birthday party. I was still wearing the tiara I could not take it off! I was so grateful to my friends! God may bless them, they are always there for me.

When I got home, my granny was there and my auntie joined later. I talked with them about my day. Of course, I brought the biggest piece of cake back home to share it with my family. I then opened my birthday presents, every single girl and teacher brought me stuff related to who I am. One thing in common, ALL IN VIOLET OR PURPLE! Beside, some of my favorite chocolate “Ferriro Rocher” It took me 3 days to look at all my birthday presents!

I had an unforgettable birthday! Now I can proudly say that I had a very nice memory of my 21 birthday. I thank every single friend who helped me with the preparations and every single teacher who came to my party. I thank those who text messaged me and sent me emails … those who did make it, as I already said, there is always next year…. I can not wait for my 22 birthday, God himself knows what is going to happen at that time.

My 21st Birthday Party! C6

Chapter #6: Lets get the Party Started!

At 12:00 PM, the guests started to arrive. I was happy to see them as I went to say hello myself. There were some friends and teachers who brought me birthday presents, seriously! They did not have to. We all moved to where my cake was. Another shock, “I don’t have a knife!” K ran to bring me a knife while another unexpected surprise happened. I suddenly screamed, my friend Monako came to me carrying a pillow that has a tiara on the top of it. It was so beautiful! It took a while till I wore it because I simply did not want to take my scarf off!

I blow the two candles that took the shape of 21! I then cut the cake when Mr. K said “Make sure that the line is straight” I smiled while being careful not to drop the multisers balls. My guests started having their cakes, wrote in guest book and took photos with me. The funnies photo was the one with four male teachers Mr. K, Mr. D, Mr. P.D and Mr. Sc, they all knelt down in order to reach my height, it was just so funny.

Two of my business teachers only came to the party, I was wondering where those who PROMISED to come!! I sat down on the ground with some teachers and friends and had a nice conversations while drinking Arabic coffee. Mr. Do came once he finished his class, I was so happy to see him because he made time for me! Around 2 PM, Mr. B came and was followed by Mr. Dn and Ms. Je. My friends said that they had to steal me from them for moments, they showed me a video made by them. Sara, Vipoo, K, Monako, Am, and H were so kind preparing and saying some really nice things in the video!

I went back to join Mr. Dn, Mr. B and Ms. Je with conversations and talks. The weather was so nice and calm, I really enjoyed it. They left after taking photos with me. I then had to clean the miss, I saw some workers and asked them if they can do it for me. I had a class at 3:00 pm and I could not miss it. I gave the workers the cakes and food as a reward for what they would be doing for me. I took some cake to the business people and prepared what to say for those who promised.

My 21st Birthday Party! C5

Chapter #5: The kind Chef and another trouble!
When I reached it, I talked to some workers in there and one of them predicted that it was my birthday “I can tell” he said! I smiled and asked the other guy “So where is the Chef?” “He is getting some stuff ready to come with you”… in a minute or so, I saw a young guy holding a cream bottle and coming to me. I did not know that it was the Chef, well, he is too young to be a Chef. I introduced myself to him and told him the story of my cake. He asked me to show him the way.
We walked all the way from the cafeteria to the DE second floor where my cake was waiting. He saw it and wished if it was on a table, I apologized for that. He did his best to make my cake look normal and guess what! When I had another look at it again, I was SHOCKED!! It looked exactly the same when I first saw it! I thanked him so much for his help, he did not charge me anything! I felt guilty because he actually did a lot! I invited him to the party but he was so busy. So I promised myself to bring him something once the whole hassle finish.

The trolley guy, who helped me bringing the cake to Mr. D’s office, came. I wanted to show the Chef the way to the cafeteria but he said that I looked so busy and said that he knew the back. The trolley guy left the cake with me after helping me putting in on the trolley. I pushed it to the party’s location where I saw all my friends there waiting for me. Another problem was on the way…

“Maryam, some of your stuff were stolen, the winners presents and the chocolates!” Sara said. I was so shocked that I could not notice that I started to swear, God may forgive me for that…I calmed down since the party was about to start soon.

My 21st Birthday Party! C4

Chapter #4: Running, fixing part of the cake and RUNNING AGAIN!
I called Sara and asked her if she can blow balloons for me, she was kind enough to say yes. I met her between CD courtyard where the party was. I was talking about how awful my day was so far. As usual, she was trying to cheer me up saying that I can depend on her. She needed boxes to put the balloons in them because the winds kept dragging them away! I went to the head of workers, who was kind enough to bring us boxes! I realize very late that I am going to miss my economic class because there were many things that needed to be taken care of so I apologized to my teacher and told her that I cannot make it.

H called and said that she found a solution for the cake problem. I took her to where the cake was. The big piece at the middle was scary that I could not look at it, the borders were bare, it had a nice decoration on it earlier that day. H took out Meltisers chocolates from her bag and started to redecorate the borders and WOW!! It looked nicer! I could not thank her enough, however the white cream in some parts was gone along with the 21 number! I did not know what to do then an idea came to mind! Why don’t I go to the cafeteria and borrow cakes’ cream from them?

That plan came into action once I realized that I was walking QUICKLY to the dinning hall. I talked to one of the staff who went to the kitchen and came back “Wait for 15 minutes, the Chef is going to go with you to where the cake is, he is going to fix it for you” I thanked him so much though all what I wanted to do is to get the cream and do it myself.

Suddenly, my friend A called and said that the order from the bakery arrived. I ran again from the cafeteria to Wing B. A was waiting for me there, I got the food from him and by using a trolley I took them to where the party. I had to take the trolley back to B wing as I promised the security then ran back to the cafeteria.

My 21st Birthday Party! C3

Chapter #3: The beginning of the big day and the cake!

Three hours later, the phone’s alarm rang announcing the beginning of my 21st birthday! I ran to my room, took a shower and prayed. I asked the made to make some Arabic coffee as I thought it would be really nice to share it with my teachers and friends. I got dressed all in violet like I have been doing during the last 3 years. This time, I worse a violet dress, white boots, purplish-violet accessories and a purplish-violet scarf that my dear friend Sara bought me.

When the bus driver arrived, I asked him to help my maid to carry my huge cake! It was so big that it could not enter from the bus’s automatic door. They had to lean it a little bit to enter it inside. I carried the rest of the stuff, the winners’ presents, Arabic coffee, chocolate and the food my auntie made. My friends brought huge mats because we were planning to set on the ground.

When we reached the campus, troubles began. The bus driver was kind enough to carry the stuff with us to the gate, however, when he was helping a worker with the cake….the cover of the cake’s box, smashed part of my cake and removed part of the cream!! When my friend told me, I almost cried! I thought that my cake got ruined! I left it with Mr. D in his office since it was cold. My friends then said that they want to do my hair and makeup… I could not smile while they were doing it, I was thinking about my cake…

My 21st Birthday Party! C2

Chapter #2: Preparations Part 2

An idea came to my mind before my birthday of two days “Why don’t I make some kind of competition during my party?” I decided that the first person I see wearing violet, the first person who I saw stepping into my birthday party, the 8th person who signs my guestbook will be announced winners. Part two was making a competition and asking questions related to myself, I named it “How will do you know me?”

I did not want cake and Soda to be the only food in my party. A and Sara were helping me by making phone calls to different shops around Dubai until we got the right one. I told them what to order and they promised that the food will be on campus around 11:00 AM before one hour of the party.

My auntie offered making some food for me “Mamool” and “Konafa”! it was just so kind of her to do! My friends offered helping me with the decorations and organizing for the party. Others took the mention of taking photos of my party. K, H and Vipoo wanted to take care of the way I look in that day. Everything was set for the big day…

The night of my birthday, I was so busy going to get my cake with my cousin who was offering me rides here and there. After that, I was looking for a suitable guestbook and I found one after a search that lasted for more than half an hour! I asked my cousin if its ok with him to lead me his mobile phone because the quality of its photos is high!

When I reached home, my auntie finished making the food for me, she showed me how to do it! For the rest of that night, I was wrapping the winners gifts! At the mid-night, some friends text message me and it was such an nice surprise to know that they keep my birthday day in their minds! I finished the preparations by 2 in the morning and could not go back to my room to sleep so I slept in the living room!

My 21st Birthday Party! C1

Chapter #1: Preparations Part 1
Last year, when my friends surprised me with a birthday party, I thought about making my own for my 21st birthday. However, due to all the work and projects I was facing, I thought it was impossible. But then I woke up one day with the idea of “I MUST make my own birthday party this year!” and from that moment on, I started to plan.

My first biggest concern was the cake, from where should I order it? If I wanted it to be delivered to the university, there are not many places in Dubai that can bring it to the campus. The only choice was to order and bring it with me from UAQ. I ordered it before two days to my birthday, the design was basically one big piece in the middle surrounded by 80 pieces each has the number 21 on it!

For the decorations and balloons, I had to go shopping with my auntie to buy them. Besides, I had to buy plastic dishes, forks and cups. Though it sounds easy but picking them was not easy at all especially with a picky person like myself. There was something which I heard my friend Vipoo talking about “Candle that have numbers shapes” and I found the numbers 2 and 1!

I was looking for an E-Card to send it to my teachers and friends as an official invitation. It took me a really long time to find a suitable one. I attached the invitation to the emails of people who I want to attend my birthday party. My sis suggested ideas like a guestbook and taking photos and I really liked them.

A Typical life with a Typical Student

It’s been a really long time since I last updated my blog. I am not to blame with all the hectic life I am leading. So what have I been up to? Well, a lot actually. My life is just going as any other student’s life.

On Sundays and Tuesday s, I work at the library in the mornings, go to my classes and do some tutoring in the afternoon as well. Mondays and Wednesdays are busier because I have 3 classes each one last for 1:20 hours and I spend the late afternoon tutoring. So this is my typical days in ZU so far. When I get home, I study or do some chatting with my grandma and the family. Projects are hunting me even in my dreams… a normal university life once I finish from one project, I see myself starting with another one.

Waking up in the morning is still my worse part of my days! I don’t like waking up around 5:00 to catch my bus, it’s so annoying! When I hop in, the first thing I do to kill time, in the darkness, is wearing my make-up. Well, it’s usually so dark but I can manage besides I don’t know how to study or revise in the darkness. During the past two weeks I missed my bus 4 times! I was lucky because my dad offered me rides to the roundabout where the bus stops before leaving the town.

Hmmm, oh yea! The food I eat is the same every day, I am trying to lose weight again but I don’t see it going anywhere. For breakfast, I have brown bread with vegetables and for lunch I usually have salad. Yea, as they say ‘Healthy Food’ but I still don’t lose much weight :(
However, there were some very nice events which took place during November like my 21st birthday… I will write about them in my next blogs

An incident in the middle of nowhere!

Wednesday, 3: 26 PM. UAQ girls on their way to the their city when….. Well, this is how I wanted to write about this abnormal story that happened to us, UAQ girls, on our way to our city after finishing a long tiring day in the University.
Before the whole thing started, I remember that I was talking with my friend and telling her that I want to spend the rest of my time on the bus solving some probabilities problems for my quantitative methods class. When I got my papers and pens out, we suddenly felt like the bus start to crack and move unstably. We started looking around wondering if it’s the ground underneath us or something else… and it was indeed something else, some girls said “The bus’s tier exploded!” … surprisingly, the girls were not terrified at all, instead they started to think about a way to get ourselves out.

Our bus driver, hoped out thinking about what the next step should be. We were not sure what shall we do when A said “Why don’t we call the police! We are blocking the other cars, we might cause traffic!” I agreed with her but then we wanted to know what the bus driver thought about it. Then, it was like a sign sent to us, I heard some girls saying that they saw a police car coming to us!

The police came and tried to help us by calling here and there. Meanwhile, I was setting calmly in the bus solving the problems for my quantitative methods class! Some girls were like “You really have no life” others were like “Now that’s a good student”… I was not sure what to say, it was only because I hate wasting time. Anyways, we were surprised that the repairing lasted for more than 1 hour. A girl went to talk to the policeman in charge and ask him if he can do anything better…and he responded really rudely to her! I did not really like that way he talked to her, it was just so mean!

Around 5 everything was finished. We left Dubai and headed back to UAQ… so I spent the rest of the time to UAQ writing about this unique incident… I have never experienced one until today.

Fourth Year Already!

Wow! A whole new life in ZU! The past three years was not thing compared to this one… in the term of “hardness” … from the very first week, I submitted my papers to the students services to work again in the library as a “Tutor”. The first day in the job, again, was really different! Because in no time I realized that I have many students! In the second week, they were counted about 20! I was not sure how I can manage them because my time was limited and besides Ramadan was coming soon. The thing is that many girls are interested this year to become tutors and take care of some of my students.

Class, hmmm my classes! I am not sure how to start or what to say… TOO BUSY AND COMPLICATED!! I only have five subjects for this semester coz for some reason I could not take anymore. But they are full of information! Introduction to Marketing, Finance and Management, quantitative methods beside Macroeconomics! It’s not like they are hard but they require work… a lot of it.

Then Ramadan came, the peaceful month in the whole year. I love this month, its calm and gives me some kind of relieve and peacefulness. I have a day off every week but as always I prefer going on campus and do some work or tutor. During Ramadan, many things happened…

The second week of Ramadan was the busiest.. I started it with the yearly help of presentation for Mr. D. I always enjoy and like helping him with his presentations and give him my feedback about his students. I don’t think that I will ever forget such an experience with Mr. D. The other thing that kept me busy last week was my assignments…I had two assignments which were suppose to be submitted on Wednesday (Today) … I was so nervous about them…however, during the weekend, I got my whole soul and heart into them….and today I submitted one of them already, the finance assignment and after moments I will submit the next one….Oh! My teacher is here! Time to go and I am not sure when the next time of posting on my blog is!

Summer Drama..."Delightful Girl"

In my mind, I am laughing, thinking about this drama is all what it takes for me to smile really wide! One of the top 3 comedy dramas I watched during summer. The story is about two teenagers who have nothing at all in common. After 10 days of meeting each other, their families insisted that they should get married because of a “misunderstanding”

Their families planned to have a wedding ceremony for the two before they get to their colleges. However, when that time actually arrived, too much complications started to appear in the drama. Of course, every Korean drama should have a third party. There was this MEAN guy who was 10 years older than the girl but he fell for her. No wonder when they say that “love” does not know this kind of complications . This guy, who was a CEO of a big film company, tried his best to separate the two. On the other hand, there was this girl who was the main guy’s first love. She did not love him but once he got married, she started having some “selfish” feelings…I really disliked her.

The most amazing senses are the comedy ones! I LOVED THEM! I can really say that they were the best EVER! It’s funny when the two were fighting at the beginning of their marriage. But I loved it when later on trusted each other and never made the other two get between them.

It was the last drama that I watched. It was a good one, I truly seriously can call it a good ending for the summer dramas. I watched 15!! I don’t know how I did it but I actually did watch 15! I don’t think that I will see anymore dramas until I don’t know when. So bye bye dramas, hello hard time!

Summer Drama..."Resurrection"

I am just speechless…I feel like no matter how much I will write, it can’t describe how much I LOOOOVED this drama. The only drama that made me cry countless tears, I don’t remember crying this much for a drama. Even “Tree of Heaven”, the one I cried a lot in, did not match this one.

The title tells it all! It did not contain only romance but also mystery and revenge. The main character is Hae Uh, a devoted detective who knew nothing about his past. He was brought to a man when he was a kid and from that day on, he lived with that man and his daughter.

But one mystery murder which looked like a suicide turns everything upside down for the detective. He discovered that this suicide was related to an accident happened 20 years ago. Through Hae Uh investigations, he realized that the man who died was his father! Besides, he got to know more about his family and that he had an identical twin brother.

The day he met his brother, unexpected turn of fate occurred. The two brothers were above the clouds to see each other since they were separated at the age of 7. Hae Uh was in his father’s car when the accident happened, Hae Uh survived…but it was not an accident, some people arranged it to be like that. The happiness did not complete because GANGESTERS killed his Hae Uh twin brother mistaking him with Hae Uh.

The brother went crazy when he was holding his brother’s body in his arms swearing that he will get revenge for him and his father. So, he lived his brother’s life as a vice president of his stepfather’s company. He was acting exactly like his brother and taking down those MURDERERS one by one. as he said “A circle always have an end”… “It’s different for someone who went to hell and came back”… “Step by step, one by one”

I was thrilled the whole time watching this drama. It was 24 episodes and I finished it in 4 days…I could not stop! I felt so bad when the brother died but I was supporting him in his revenge…because it was something he should do SOMETHING about it. Though the idea of revenge is kinda bad but evil should never win…an eye for an eye!

A Dream...Back to the Old Campus?

I was having dreams about the university from the very first day of the summer vacation. I wanted to go back there so bad! Because of that, it was not a really big surprise for me to have dreams about the university from time to time.

I once dreamt that it was the first day on campus after the vacation. I was with my bus mates when an idea approached us. We thought about going somewhere else before we head to the campus. Then I saw myself with some of my friends, standing in front of the old campus’s gate… it was our destination.

There was a surprise waiting for us. I found out that many of my other friends, who are not from UAQ, were there! It was amazing to meet them in the old campus without even planning for it. “It’s a dream I know, but it felt so good”

I was so happy being there in the old campus, looking around the place. It was the same nothing was changed; even the coffee shop was still in there. I wanted to take some photos but my phone was almost out of charge. I asked “R” who is famous for her love of photography to take some and share it with me later. She did not only take photos, she also videoed.

A year passed since the ZU community moved to the new campus. I always wanted to visit the old campus but there was no chance. But even if it was just a dream, it felt good to go back to the old campus.

Summer Drama..."One Litre of Tears"

I have many friends who are so devoted to Asian dramas. Sometimes we share our thoughts and opinions about some of them. I was hearing about that very sad drama which should be in my must-watch list…Sl once said “You have been watching dramas but you did not watch that one! Is it for real?”

I was keeping in mind to watch it as soon as possible and I did. It is called “1 liter of tears” … the title itself shows that it’s a really sad drama and it actually was. It’s a Japanese drama based on a true story. A 15 years old girl who was suffering from a disorder disease is the main character in the story. Her life had a complete twist after she heard the news. “Why did this disease choose me?” was her first reaction.

She fought hard against that disease. Her doctor asked her to keep writing her diary about it. And based of that diary there was this dramas.

Though my friends said that I will cry A LOT! I actually did not, I was feeling really sad for the girl but I never cried! But while I was watching the final episode, I could not handle it! I cried!!! It was so touching! No wonder then why it was called “One liter of tears” ….

Really sad but the way she fought against it and the words she was writing in her diary were really moving! The thing is that he diary was later on published to the public and sold 19 million copies! She reached people’s heart with her diary … she was really brave regardless of her incurable disease…

Summer Drama..."Witch Yoo Hee"

My friends Sakura, Memo and Roona recommended this Korean drama for me. At the beginning, I did not really care much because I was watching many others besides the ones on my must-watch list. At the end, I ended up watching it and enjoying every bit of it.

Yoo Hee was a business woman who was running an advertising company. She was known for her cold unfriendly scary attitude. For that, he colleagues at work called her “Witch”. Whenever she was arranged for a blind date, she ended up being rejected by the other party. It was the first time to watch a Korean drama having three guys loving one girl! She wanted to fall in love and it actually happened when she met a cheerful guy.

This cheerful boy’s dream was to become a skilled chef. Besides, turns up to owe some money for Yoo Hee. He had no choice but to work for her as her housekeeper and fashion coach, all that was written in a contract according to Yoo Hee’s condition.. He started changing Yoo Hee into a beautiful woman. Her long hair became short, her cloths became colorful instead all in black, her glasses were replaced with contact lenses and her attitude changed thanks to some tips from him.

Yoo Heed did not fall for him from the beginning because she had some feelings for her first love, a successful doctor. This doctor was only around Yoo Hee because he wanted to achieve something, the poor girl had no idea. I personally did not like him; he was not an honest man but a devil full of devilish tricks.

The last guy is “Jonney” a famous chef and Yoo Hee’s friend from the U.S. Yoo Hee always considered him as a best friend but secretly Jonney had some feelings for her. When the cheerful guy worked for Jonney as a chef assistant, he would realize Jonney’s feelings for Yoo Hee. So, he tried his best to set Jonney with Yoo Hee. I liked Jonney, he was really kind hearted person with a heart of gold and a killer smile!

I strongly recommend this drama. It was so so so funny but dramatic in the last episodes. I enjoyed it a lot!!! One of the dramas that I won’t mind watching again. Really COOL!

Glasses!!

My eyes were hurting me for days since the beginning of July. I assumed that the reason behind it might be not having enough sleep. It was because of trying to adjust to the new system of waking up early in the morning to go to work. I wanted to recheck though; I thought that maybe something new might came up.

I took permission to go to the hospital from my manager. I went to the hospital with my auntie. It’s been a really long time since I went for a check up…almost a year! My doctor was off that day but another one was around. He checked on my eyes and demanded that I should wear my glasses again.

During the last year, I forgot completely about my glasses. Since it was required, I went to buy a new one. It’s been three weeks since I started wearing them again. At the beginning, I was feeling dizzy accompanied with headaches for couple of days but now I am dealing.

Never expected to wear glasses again, I don’t really like them anymore. But for my own benefits, I should wear it no matter what!

2007 Summer Job

When summer first began, I was feeling really bored and had nothing much to do. I wanted so bad to do something useful with my life…I was waiting for someone to call and tell me that I got a summer job. Nothing happened until the beginning of July.

I received a call asking me to start working in the following day in the NBD. I was so happy about it, I felt like I will get a lot of experience out of it and I was right.

When I first started working, I found it harder than I thought! I always thought that banking is the easiest part in business! I was wrong! It’s like any other serious job that requires hard work, concentration and a lot of attention. With the passing days, I got to know more about banking. I even got used to the daily tasks I used to do during the mornings and afternoons which I was not familiar with.

The staffs were really helpful! They answered all my questions and I would never forget their kindness and the way they treated me. I was saying “If I am to work with such a staff later on my future life, I would never go on vacation!” besides, I realized that learning from the work environment is much better than only theories! I believe because of that we have something called “Internship” in our last semester.

I had a good experience for a whole month. During it, I learnt how to deal with some problems and to be really patient in certain situations. Now, I am back to my usual life …nothing much to do…but looking at the bright side, “Less than one month and I will be back on campus”

Summer Drama..."Love Contract"

Underwater is the main environment for the second Taiwanese drama I watched for this summer. It tells the story of Ken and Xion Fong “not sure of her name”… completely two different people.

Ken is a teenager who enjoys diving and painting. He is famous in his college for being the captain of the swimming team…a captain without a team; he is called “Sea Monster” because of his love for the sea. His father left his mother when he was a little kid. Since that time, he took care of his mother who was suffering from some kind of a disease.

Xion Fong is known for her stubbornness and rudeness! She always acts like a “tomboy” and never allows herself to fall in love. The reason why she was afraid of falling in love is because of a scar on her back which made her so uncomfortable. She spends her time between studying and running her family’s internet café.

Xion Fong’s friends wanted her to fall in love. They made a deal with Ken saying that if he agrees to go out with Xion Fong, they would be part in his swimming team. He agreed to the deal which was called “Love Contract” …Ken first agreed to it because it was only a contract…in no time, he fell for Xion Fong and same happened to her…the big question was “What will happen once she knows that it all began with a contract?”
