Career Fair..was AMAZING!

I was quite unhappy when I heard about the project I should do along with my group in the “Career Fair”. I kept telling my friends “People go there to look for a job and we will go to finish our homework!” My class left at 12:15 pm, much later than the other classes which left at 10.

The project was about interviewing 6 people from 6 different companies. And I prepared around 8 questions for each company. When we first arrived, I went with my group to start the real job. We went to the Etisalat Company, ADCB, Gulf News, Arab Media Group, Al-Nabooda Company and Dubai Properties. Each company had its own interesting info, and it was hard for me to even think about my future career. I interviewed 9 people, 5 girls and 4 guys. The interesting thing is that it was my first time interviewing people out of campus especially local Emeriti guys.

People who I met there were quite interesting, friendly and ready to answer any of my questions. In some of the interviews they offered me and my friends’ seats and more than that fresh Arabian coffee. The time passed by really quickly and I did not get the chance to go to booths which I wanted to like Dubai TV, one TV and Emirates Airline.

We left at 4:30 pm and it was really late because one of the girls was missing. Later we found out that she went home by herself. I was delighted when we reached the university at 5 sharp. But the huge trouble was at home when my granny heard me talking with my Dad on the phone about the trip and what I did in there. 3 days had passed and she is not talk to me!

Aha! A Morning

This morning is like any other busy morning in ZU. I arrived at 7:45 am and its early, I met some of my friends. And I kinda feel sick, I think that I will go to drink a cup of coffee once F and Rocky come. F is already here but she went with S somewhere and I think that I just heard Rocky’s voice.

When I first arrived Sh showed couple of pictures about Japanese actors and some of their drama. 10 mins ago, F and I went to her locker and we started a new naughty day. We wrote some comments about ourselves and it was fun! I mean, it was a good way to make part of this laziness goes away

Later this day at 12:00 pm, I am going in a trip to the “Career Fair” in order to look at different kinds of jobs and to work on my communication project

Jared My Favorite Actor!

I always put his picture on my laptop’s desktop and when people ask me about who he is, I simply answer “7amood”. That is a nickname I gave to my favorite young actor “Jared Padalecki”. I gave him that nickname because in the beginning I found it hard to pronounce his real name, and calling him “7amood” was and is much easier. As you can see, he is really handsome and some of my girl friends had and still having a crush on him.

The first time I saw him was last year in the movie “New York Minute”, and I thought that he was cute and that was it. The second time I saw him was in summer in the movie “House of Wax” and I found that he is such an interesting actor and I like him because he simply seems sweet.

And this year I found out that he is acting in a new TV serial “Supernatural”. This is the second serial he acts in; the first one was “Gilmor Girls” as he took the lead of “Dean”. In my opinion, his new serial “Supernatural” is much better. Though I hate watching scary stuff, I only watch this serial because “7amood” is acting in it. Besides, the storyline is really amazing, and I will write about this serial in my next blog.

Well, I wanna say that I did not like an actor before like I am doing with Jared, more than one year had passed and he is still my favorite actor.

My Own Scary Movie!

It was 11:45 pm and I was not sleeping yet because I was rereading over my English Essay “Courtly love: its rules and honors”. While I was revising it, I found out that I needed one more info for my paper from the internet. I was kind of scared to go outside the house to where the internet room . But I made up my mind, and held my laptop on my arm without shutting it down.

I went outside to the internet room... The flash from the laptop screen made me see three of my shadows on the walls and then I noticed that I was not alone. I saw another shadow. My blood stopped running in my veins, when I saw a tall black cat coming toward me. I screamed making my way to the internet room, when I reached it, I saw my brother welling to come toward me.

A heard me screaming and asked me what was wrong with worried eyes. I did not know what to do or how to answer; I held his arm “A! I saw… I saw a black cat, its all because of 7amood and his show, it scars me to death --- I will tell the story of 7amood in my next blog ---“

My brother ignored what I said and looked at me like “Hey! Don’t be such a chicken” and guess what he was doing when he heard my screaming. He was talking with his friend who was shocked from what he heard over the phone… I embarrassed myself again and there is nothing new about that.

I found the info I needed for my essay and went back to bed still trembling because of what happened.

April Fools! -- My last victim! -- WOW IT WAS COOL!!!

Once we were out “Sir, it involves Mr. Dn! something happened and I can not talk to him without someone with me” Mr. P was worried, he locked his office and walked first to Mr. Dn’s office. On the way, I thought that Mr. P is maybe busy with something so I said “Sir, its about April fools”. He stopped walking and looked at me.. and a smile found its way to his face but then I said “Ok Sir! Don’t say anything, just be serious” … Mr. P was still laughing and I was glad when he thought about stopping.

We went inside the "quiet area" to see Mr. Dn locking his office’s door. I was relieved that I caught him before he leave! We walked to him, he smiled but his smile faded away when he saw our faces “I need to talk to you” I said pointing to his office. He was 100 times worried than Mr. P. he unlocked his office and turn on the lights.

When I went in with Mr. P, Mr. Dn offered me a seat but I refused saying in a dry voice “Its ok, it won’t take long”. I opened my mouth to say something when Mr. P said “Maryam! That is enough”. I was shocked of Mr. P's action, I did not do anything yet! Mr. Dn was stunned by what I did; I bet that he did not expect this from me.

I spent the next days laughing whenever I remembered that incident. It was my first time fooling people in that day though Mr. P told me that I am the fool. Why? You may ask? Well, because 12 pm its well-known that the one who make a trick is the fool… ah, well I did not know that! I fooled and been fooled and it was FUN!

April Fools! -- My first and Second victims! --

In the afternoon, after I finished my classes, I went to hang with my friends F&R. I was telling during the day that something had happen. Though we were in the class, I talked to her on the msn telling her the story which made me worried. I suddenly smiled and looked away from the msn to where she was sitting while I wore my shoes “F!.....APRIL FOOLS!!!” In the beginning, she did not understand but since she realized what I was talking about, she run after me. I went outside the class but what saved me was seeing Mr. K. So she stopped and I kept walking. But then we ran around the building till she promised me not harm. We laughed then and she said that she did not expect this thing of me.

After 3 pm, F left and I felt bored. I did not know what to do so I went to see S. We had a short chat, and she told me that she fooled 3 people. I asked her if Mr. Dn been tricked but she did not think so. And guess what! I planned to fool Mr. Dn and I got a brilliant idea. I needed a help from a male teacher but not many of them was around. The only one who was available was Mr. P! …. And here was my plan

I went to Mr. P’s office wearing a really sad face. I said in a low voice and without looking at him “Sir, Can I talk to you outside?”. In the beginning, he did not take his attention from him paper but once he saw my face…he left everything and walked out his office. He said “What is it?” I replied murmuring “There is a huge problem”

April fools! -- I am the victim! --

In that day, I was having a really hard time working on my paper. Around 10:00 am, I went to meet Ms. E in the cafeteria as we planned to have breakfast together. Being with her, made me feel much better and we had a chat about many different things. After finishing our breakfast, I walked her to her office where we met Mr. Dn. We had a friendly talk with him then she looked at me “Maryam, I want to tell you something”. I looked at her with a concerned eyes “I got engaged!!” she said and I screamed congratulating her! But the thing which attracted me was Mr. Dn face! He only smiled saying “congratulations!” …. Before I know what was going on, Ms. E said “April FOOLS!!” My eyes opened wide! I was fooled in the “April Fools day”, I could not help it but to laugh out loud!! And then I knew why Mr. Dn was calm because he kinda knew it was a trick!!

Carnival!....2

In the afternoon, while I was chatting with F on the bench, I saw Mr. G coming with some people! I did not recognize them in the beginning, coz I only saw them on pictures! It took me a while to know that Mr. G brought his children S and T! I walked to them and greeted them, and they were so sweet mashallah!

Mr. G allowed me to join them in the class. I was delighted, I was in Mr. G’s class and it was not one of my dreams. We played a game, and the first question was about “Westlife”. I automatically answered his question, not quite knowing it was for the opposite team! Ah, well one of my stupid mistakes again, I just like my boyband.

F could not stay late that day so she left leaving me with my other best friend R. Around 5:30 pm, R and I walked around the university and I enjoyed looking at the university while the sun started to set. Then my head started to ache, so I told R that I am going back to class.

In the class some of my friends brought their little tiny brothers, besides I met F’s cousin! F was not around but her cousin was! I wish if that young lady did not leave early. It was 8 pm when it was the time for me to go home.

My brother came to pick me up from the roundabout because the bus could not take me to my father’s house’s gate. My father was fine with whatever happened with me, but my grandma ,and even after 4 days of that event, can not stop arguing about it.

Carnival! ....1

I did not care that much when I knew that there is a carnival in the university. And I thought that even if I am interested, my Dad will not allow me to stay at the university till 8 pm! But when the carnival started, I wanted to stay so bad! Since it was planed to last for two days, I made up my mind to stay in the day after, regardless of what my Dad may think.

In the first day, the university was full of energy! There was no trace for the usual routine and some teachers canceled their classes. There was music and stuff around but the most attractive event was “The concert”. This music concert was presented by Mr. G, Mr. P and Ms. P. and WOW!! They were amazing! It was the first time for me to see Mr. G singing on stage! In a second I wanted to scream saying “He is my ex-teacher!” but the crowd’s noise was higher than my voice!

At night I informed my father that I am staying at the university, for my surprised he did not argue that much. So in the next day, I was so excited that I will stay at the university till 8 pm! I brought my cousin F’s guitar as my friend F requested. I don’t know how to play guitar but it was fun to make sounds come out of it.
