The Ending of Semester 3...II

In Wednesday, it was a nice cloudy windy day! Before I start the exams, I returned the 17 books and stories which I borrowed during summer. Everytime I was thinking about returning them, I forgot! But at the end I did! Then the global exam started which contained 3 questions but I had to choose only 2. I wrote 1000 words as a respond though in some point, I had no idea what I was writing about. A friend of mine K, the one who found moto the other day, passed the TOEFL. She once promised me that when she passes it, she will invite me for coffee and she did! I bought tea instead of coffee for a change then I went to the media exam. It was same as the global one, 2 questions had to be chosen out of 3…it was not really bad.

After finishing these two exams, I felt so tired. But I had to hang in there because I had one more fight …ECONOMICS! The exam started at 12:45 pm. When I first looked at the paper, I was not anxious! I started answering the questions but there were 2 questions out of 5 that confused me but hopefully I did well. I finished the exam in 45 min and left at 1:30 pm.

I was on my way to the library when I saw K again. We had a chat and since I was in D wing, I thought about going around to say goodbye to the teachers. My x teacher Mr. G was busy so I did not get the chance. I went to see my Irish Uncle Mr. D and his friend Mr. A. When I passed by Mr. J’s office, I saw some of friends with him. I went in with K and I had the most amazing chat with him and my friends. Mr. J and I recalled the old days back in the old campus…I would never forget him saying “It have been fun watching you growing up!” Thank you so much Mr. J for making my last day on campus really unforgettable!

So that was it…another chapter ended in my life in Zayed University. 2 years and a half passed and there are 2 more and a half to go….now I will be starting a new chapter as me “Maryam a business student”…

The Ending of Semester 3....I

The last week of my third semester on the university was the hardest! During that week, I had 5 final exams which I had to prepare and take in 2 days! I started the last week on Monday as Sunday was a break due to the new Al-Hujra year break. I went to the campus on Monday though I had no exams because I knew that if I stayed at home I would wake up late and I hate being off campus!

I started the day with studying economics which I had to take on Wednesday. This exam really terrifies me! I was studying it during the weekend but I was feeling so uneasy about it! I can say that 50% of my effort was on this course while the other 50% was divided to the other 5 courses including accounting that I took in the week before.

In Tuesday, I had my Islamic and English exams! Both of them were containing writing. In the Islamic exam I had to write around 5 long paragraphs! After finishing them I thought that I will not have any more energy for my English exam! But it was fine all what I had to write is 200 words as a respond. That was the good part…

Later that day, I joined with friends to study economics! We shared information and solved some complicated economics mathematical problems. Just have a look at the table in which we studied! Calculators, lattes, diet coca “mine”, papers, pens…etc…I really felt like I am a business student!

When I lost Moto!...2

I went to my global class, which did not started, and left my stuff there and went back to the toilet hoping that I might find someone there…I did not. On my way back to the class, I saw my friend and bus mate K who said “Maryam, where is your phone?” I did not really get what she said but then she asked me to talk to someone on her phone…it was my other bus mate F who said “Someone found your phone and brought it to me”!

It seems that after I left the toilet, the girl A, my moto’s savor, went there and found the phone. She dialed the last received call, which was F’s number, met her and gave her my phone. The shocking thing is the F knew A, small world! But until now I did not get to meet A yet but I am dying to. Thanks A, F and K for all what you done, you really made my day.

Now moto is with me! I was so worried but from now on, I am going to hung it to my neck…there is no way that its going to leave my sight again.

When I lost Moto!...1

In the beginning you might wonder, What is moto? It is my first official cell phone but the second I ever had. The first phone was a gift from Dad when I first joined the university. However, it died on me so I had to buy another one. What is so special about it is that I bought it from the money I gained out of working during summer. It’s a nice gray motolola v3 phone but something happened last Sunday and made me so worried about it!

In that day at 12:30 pm I was on my way to the last class in media. I was in F wing the first floor when I wanted to go to the toilet and then continued my way to the class. Before it started, I looked for moto! But I could not fine the phone! I went running to the toilet and there was the surprise! Its gone!!

In class, the teacher was talking about the final exam and I was trying to concentrate but could not…I was so worried, the phone contains some phones and many phone numbers and in the end its…A PHONE! After the class was finished, I ran to the student service but they said that they did not get anything and asked me to see the security in F wing! I ran back to the wing and asked the security who had no clue.

Unexpected Weekend Trip

Last week, I was so nervous knowing that in the following week I will start my final exams. I did not really feel like studying, I wanted to have some fun but did not know how. My bro M came up with the idea that the small family should go out since A finished his high school finals. They asked me if I want to go, and I did not say no.

M was driving and Dad was slowing him down whenever he sees M driving for more than 100km/hr! On the road we were talking about the same boring usual stuff. TOEFL, economics, AUS’s courses, high school grades…etc.

We first went shopping in the central market in Sharjah. M & A went to buy whatever is related to their video games. I walked around the place with Dad and it was the first time for me to leave that place without buying anything. Next, we went to Sahara Mall. Once I saw the coffee bean and tea leaf, I dragged the guys to it. We had a conversation while having coffee; it felt so sweet to be together with a family! We walked around the place and then we made our way to the third destination “Ajman city center” we bought some stuff and dinner.

I was wondering if they got Westlife’s newest album. I went to the CDs section looking for “The love album…the love album…the love albu…!” I found it and held it on my hands! However, I remembered that I did not bring money as I do every time I go out with Dad. My brothers spent all their cash and daddy thinks its ridicules to buy music….I was really sad! Whenever I want to buy it something must happen…ah well, on a way or another, I will sure get it…though some friends offered to buy it for me but I am like “No thanks! I want to see it on the shelf, take it and pay for it” while they reply “They will release their ninth album when you buy the eightieth”

We went back home and I spent the rest of the night watching those Asian dramas and preparing myself to studying accounting in the following day…such a life but sometimes its really FUN!

Eid, Xmas & New Year week!

The previous three weeks went really quickly! I don’t remember much of what happened in them. The same usual stuff…attending classes, having breaks, having coffee every morning….those weeks were really calm.

However, the most interesting things were happening last week. At least it got some excitement. It was the week that contained Christmas, Eid and New Year within them. In the Xmas, I was greeting teachers and wishing them a Merry Xmas whether it was face to face or by sending them ecards.

Eid was calm as always except for going out with my brother and cousins in the first day. We first went to the Mega-Mall in Sharjah. I was looking for a virgin mega store as I wanted to by Westlife’s newest Album but I am not sure if there was one in that mall or…I was not looking carefully. Then we went to Sharjah’s Central Market. I did not want to go there because I was not really in the mood of shopping but my dear bro wanted to fix my cousin’s video game. We then went to have dinner in Burger King and it was a very good way to gain more weight. It was my brother’s idea anyways and since he was the driver I had no objections. Anyways, Burger King is my favorite place for fast food and eating once in a while from there wont harm…I hope

The New Year eve was quiet as well. I spent it at home, listening to Westlife and watching some Korean drama…so now I am living in the second day of the year 2007. I wish those who I care for to be blessed with happiness in every single day of it and I hope it will be a good successful year in their lives…
