"Tell Him I Am Sorry"

“Please Maryam go and talk to him, I feel that he is angry of me!” My friend M said that when she saw Mr. J… “Who told you that he is angry?”… “Just go and tell him that I am sorry OK??... I can not do that!” And because my friend is really shy, I went to talk to Mr. J.. after I greeted him “Sir, do you see that girl over there??”…. “yes the one is hiding”….”yes Sir; she thinks that you are angry of her and she is saying sorry!”…. “I do not know her!... she is running now!”. When I looked at the place where she was sitting in…. there was no trace of her!

“I will talk to her… if someone feels that I am angry... she must come and talk to me”. I was shocked “OPPS!..How can she talk to him??... She barely talks to her own teacher!” He interrupted my thoughts saying “do you have time?”… “Sure! If you have”.

When we were near her place, I saw my other friend R. She was shocked to see Mr. J with me. When I asked R where is M?.. She said that she is hiding in the bathroom… Mr. J said “I can not go in there!... ask her to come out!”… I went with my friend R inside and after arguing with her she agreed to go out, but she was holding on R’s arm.

Then Mr. J asked her why she thinks that he is angry of her. She said with a help of mine and R… that in the last term, Mr. J said hi … she and her friends became shocked.. My friend said in Arabic “he does not know us, why is he saying hi to us?” And maybe Mr. J knew about what she was taking about!... my friend felt embarrassed and she thought that he is angry.

Mr. J remembered her and he said that its in his culture to say hi to the others – he reminded me with myself when I say hi to everybody ^_^- and he said that when he say hi people become shocked and if he did not they think that he is not friendly or something like that.

The conclusion, Mr. J was not angry of my friend. On the other hand M was so embarrassed… it was her first time to talk to a teacher – not her own teacher- for a long time. I told her that its normal… but she do not listen.

Thanks for explaining VR. Not everyone is as outgoing and sociable as you. I hope your friend can overcome her shyness.
