We are the Champions :D

The first two days of the break were so quiet until the following night…I was sticking myself near the PC staring with a very anxious sad eyes at a very sad drama when suddenly I heard noises and fireworks! My romantic mood was ruined and the PC suddenly froze! I got up and opened the door looking at the street…then I remembered…my country’s football team was playing against KSA in that evening in the Gulf Cup

I called my cousin asking her if what I came up with was true and she screamed saying that it was true “We won!” …I then went to the second floor looking at the main street which was crowded with cars and guys singing and shouting! At that moment I wondered what will happen if UAE won against Oman and got the Gulf Cup? Well, I did not wait long to get an answer for that question

In the 30^th of January, at 7:00 pm I was having tea with my aunt when she mentioned something about the final match which I forgot completely about. She asked me to check the score through the internet and when I did… none of the teams scored any goals. When I sighed into the msn a friend of mine sent “Maryam! GOOOOOOAL!” I opened my eyes wide and ran to my brother, who was watching the match with my cousin, and confirmed it! I then went back to my tea coz I did not want to be on my nerve while watching the game.

At 7:10 pm, I called my cousin “We won!! We are the champions!” just hearing that made me run back to the TV. M, F, my auntie and I were so excited watching our football team getting the Gulf Cup for the very time! That was a moment to remember! Though it has been already 3 days but my hometown did not stop celebrating neither the other parts of the UAE! God may bless my country
